Not-for-profit and Public Sector Accounting (Concentration)
Overview
The Not-for-Profit and Public Sector Accounting concentration provides the knowledge you’ll need to work with non-profit organizations and public sector organizations. This BBA in Accounting concentration will teach you how to create restricted funds and endowments, prepare fund accounting statements, work with governance and oversight, plan and budget for the public sector, study capital budgets and more.
With over 331,000 people employed by non-profits and 116,000 people employed in public administration in B.C., this concentration will give you career options in two of the biggest industries in the province. Graduates can find work in governments, municipalities, charities, universities, colleges, research corporations, professional bodies, co-operatives, crown corporations and private-public partnerships.
Admissions Requirements
There are no separate admission requirements for a concentration. However, the student must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration program in order to complete the Not-for-profit and Public Sector Accounting concentration.

Program Requirements
- This concentration is only available for students enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in a Business Administration program.
- Successful completion of 12 credits; two (2) required courses (6 credits) and two (2) elective courses (6 credits).
- Students who have already taken and received credits for the required and elective course(s) in their Bachelor's degree program can also apply the course(s) towards the requirements for the concentration.
- Student must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.33 (C+) for the courses required to earn the concentration.
