Combine your trades experience with essential business skills such as accounting, finance, economics, marketing, writing and critical thinking with the Trades Management concentration. You’ll get to choose from a variety of upper-level business courses that will meet your career needs.
Get credit for your work experience
If you have completed 4,000 hours of provincially recognized trades training and/or work experience, you can receive 48 credits in recognition of your previous learning. That means you can get your BBA in Management with a Trades Management concentration in two and a half years instead of four.
Get certified
Once you have completed two management courses, you can apply for a Blue Seal (if you hold a provincial or interprovincial trades certificate). After completing your BBA Management, you can also apply for education equivalence credit with the Chartered Management Program to receive the Certified in Management (CIM) designation.
Jobs, jobs, jobs
This program opens career growth opportunities for those already working in the trades. You’ll graduate ready to take on managerial roles in construction, transportation, production, utilities and more. According to WorkBC, there will be 3,770 senior management job openings in trades from now until 2029. Plus, the median salary for senior management positions is $102,862 per year.
The Trades Management Concentration is only available for students enrolled in the BBA Management program. Applicants must have the following admission requirements:
