About the Program
The Sport Science Experiential Education Program (SSEEP) runs every two years and combines three Sport Science courses into a 9-credit domestic field school experience run in May. Students study Nutrition (SPSC 1192), Outdoor Education (SPSC 1318), and Contemporary Health Issues (SPS 2252) in an integrated program that takes advantage of British Columbia’s beautiful outdoors. The next offering of the SSEEP will be Summer of 2024.
Program Benefits
Past field experiences included a mountain bike trip on the historic Kettle Valley Railway, a canoe trip, and a Vancouver Island tour which took advantage of many land and water-based outdoor activities. The overall goal of the program is to use the activities to bring relevance to the course curriculum. The SSEEP program is a great way to learn, gain credits, challenge yourself, and have fun all at the same time.
