Workplace LINC 5/6

Workplace LINC 5/6 combines English language instruction with classes on how to prepare for work in Canada. You will also practice computer skills. This popular program is for newcomers who are motivated to build up their English language skills to enter the labour market.

What Training Do Workplace LINC 5/6 Students Receive?

• Practice how to speak comfortably in front of a group
• Read and write memos, emails, reports, letters, and resumes
• Use workplace vocabulary
• Learn computer skills: Introduction to Word, Excel, Internet, and email
• Talk with guest speakers who work in the community
• Use labour market information to research their field   

Who Is Eligible for Workplace LINC 5/6?

You are eligible for Workplace LINC 5/6 if you are a LINC 4/5 graduate or have a Client Referral Form from a LINC Language Assessment Centre or a designated LINC school.

* Clients must be age 17 or older and approved for permanent residence.  

** You must have at least one of the following documents:

a) Valid Permanent Resident Card (check the expiry date on the front side of the PR card)
b) Confirmation of Permanent Residence (form IMM5292)
c) Record of Landing (form IMM1000 - issued before June 2002)
d) Notice of Decision from the Refugee Protection Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) confirming convention refugee status
e) Letter from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) approving to remain in Canada while the application for permanent residence is being finalized (Approval in Principle Letter)

NOTE: Canadian citizens, temporary visitors, temporary foreign workers, and refugee claimants who have not yet received a positive decision on their refugee status claim cannot take LINC classes.

To register:

1. Take a Language Assessment. Contact a Language Assessment Centre to make an appointment. *See locations in the right column 👉
2. After you have your language assessment results, complete the ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM
3. Wait for our Program Assistant to contact you with next steps.

Note: Incomplete applications or any missing documentation will delay the registration process.
