Transcript guidelines for applicants

Transcript notice

We do not accept transcripts directly from students.  Please review the information below to find out how to send transcripts from your sending institution directly to Douglas College.

Transcripts and Required Documents

Applicants must submit official transcripts from all secondary and post-secondary institutions attended to verify admission requirements and/or assess transfer credit.

Unofficial documents (photocopies, scans, or personal copies) are not accepted and may delay processing your application/transfer credit requests.

Program-specific requirements are listed under Program Admissions Requirements and General College Admission Requirements.

Note: All submitted documents become the property of Douglas College and will not be returned unless they are deemed irreplaceable.

Translation Requirements

If your transcripts are not in English, you must provide:

  • The original transcript, and
  • A certified English translation by an authorized translator
  • Both documents must be submitted together

Official High School Transcripts

A high school transcript is considered official if it is:

  • Sent electronically by the Ministry of Education, school board, or institution; or
  • Mailed directly in a sealed envelope from the issuing body

Note: Paper copies of BC high school transcripts are no longer accepted.

BC High School Students

Visit the Student Transcript Services (STS) website to order your transcript.

  • Current students: select the option "Send my transcript now and allow this Post-Secondary Institution to request transcript updates until the date specified below"
    • Ensure the authorization date is one year from submission (do not change the default date)
    • This will allow the College to continue downloading updated transcripts including the final one
  • Graduates/former students: Select "Send my transcript electronically now”

For instructions on how to use Student Transcript Services, watch the Ministry's videos.
