Applying early – why it's important

Submitting Your Transcripts

We accept transcripts sent electronically/by mail directly from the Ministry of Education, secondary schools, and other post-secondary institutions. To avoid processing delays, we recommend ordering an official transcript to be sent directly to Douglas College as soon as you submit your application. Read the Transcript Guidelines for Applicants.

What is the first day you can apply?

Applications usually open 11 months in advance of your starting semester, beginning on the first business day of the opening month.

Current Grade 12 applicants can begin applying in October for the Fall or February for Winter semesters following the start of their grade 12 year.  All current High School students must provide an official interim high school transcript and will be required to submit a final high school transcript by the end of July of their graduating year.

When do applications close?

Limited Enrolment Programs

Application deadlines vary throughout the year. Check EducationPlannerBC to confirm whether your program is still accepting applications. If it shows up on the drop-down list, applications are still being accepted.

Open Enrolment Programs

Online applications close at 4:00 PM on the Friday before the start of each semester.

Applying Late

If you apply during the final month before applications close, you are expected to have all admission requirements completed and be ready to submit required documents immediately. Please note that acceptance is not guaranteed if your documentation submission is delayed, and you may need to reapply for a future semester.

Acceptance to a program does not guarantee course registration.
