Many courses and programs at Douglas College require English and Math prerequisites. If you're applying to the College but do not have proof of the English proficiency requirement or you're interested in taking a specific Math course, you may be eligible to write one of our assessments.
Do you need to take an assessment?
You do need an assessment if:
- You don't have transcripts or documents to show that you meet the prerequisites, but you believe you have the necessary skills.

You don't need an assessment if:
- You've already met the admission or course prerequisites and have submitted the required documentation.
When to take your assessment
You can take an assessment before you register for courses and before the semester starts as long as you have applied to the College, paid your application fee, and received your student number.
We recommend booking your assessment as early as possible to ensure you meet any important deadlines. Please remember that cancellations must be made at least 24 business hours in advance of your scheduled time. For math assessments and English course registration, a minimum of 48 business hours’ notice is required.
How to book an assessment
Step 1:

Step 2:
Check the Assessment testing schedule and choose a date, time, and location to write your assessment.
Step 3:
Contact Enrolment Services to register for the chosen test. You will then be contacted by Assessment Services who will confirm your session and provide you with further details.
