Administrative Assistants carry out a variety of administrative duties to support managers and professionals. They work throughout the private and public sectors.
Graduates of our program will be highly proficient in computer applications and will demonstrate abilities in communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving, teamwork, and administrative procedures.
This certificate program is designed to provide the basic skills required to work in an office setting.
Legal Administrative Assistants, with training and experience in the various areas of legal practice as well as strong computer and communications skills, are sought after. Graduates may find employment in law firms, notary offices, legal departments for companies, or government agencies or ministries.
Graduates of our program are trained in legal office procedures, legal terminology, court systems, legal record keeping, billing clients, and in the preparation, filing and service of legal documents in the areas of Wills and Estates, Family Law, Litigation, Corporate Law and Conveyancing. They will be able to provide general clerical and specialized legal support to lawyers to help their clients.
Medical Office Assistants perform a variety of administrative and clinical duties in doctors’ offices, clinics, hospitals, and other medical settings. They must have excellent interpersonal skills, as well the ability to be tactful and discreet.
Advances in technology have impacted the duties of the medical office assistant. The increasing use of electronic medical records requires that the medical office assistant stay current with technological developments. As such, individuals who have a wider variety of computer skills will be in higher demand.
Graduates of our program will be highly proficient in the use of both paper and electronic medical records. Students will receive a sound basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology and an extensive knowledge of medical terminology. Training is provided in general medical office administrative procedures and clinical skills used in the medical office.

Completion of the Administrative Assistant, Legal Administrative Assistant or Medical Office Assistant Certificate all ladder into our Office Administration Diploma program, which includes courses in accounting, math, economics, marketing and elective courses from different areas of the college.
