Independent learning through a program-related Work Term with support given by a Faculty Advisor and workplace supervisor.

Course description
This Co-operative (Co-op) Education course is designed for Sport Science (SPSC) students seeking work experience in a related field. This Co-op course enables students to apply and develop knowledge and skills on the job. Over the duration of this third paid Work Term, students, with the support of a Faculty Advisor, use, enhance and add to their transferable career skills and program specific skills. Students set learning objectives for their work experience and complete a Work Term report, project or deliver a presentation outlining the nature and tasks of the work experience, detailing what they learned, and articulating how their academic and workplace experiences are connected. This course will enable students to develop the necessary requirements to meet SPCS outcomes. This course is intended to enhance the student's career success upon graduation. A student in an approved four-year SPSC program who successfully completes COOP 1100 plus COOP 2310, and COOP 3510 is eligible for a Co-operative Education designation on their credential.
