Services Provided
The Psychology Laboratories at Douglas College provide the following services to students:
- Assistance with coursework
- Advice on writing and completing term papers
- Advice on writing and completing course assignments
- Guidance regarding the use of APA Style
- Counsel on designing and conducting experiments
- Assistance with Statistics which includes: calculations, concepts, analysis and interpretation of statistical data
- Instruction in the use of SPSS
- A research space for students to conduct their experiment
- A study space
- Computers equipped with SPSS and MS-Office
Lab Demonstrations
Lab demonstrations are offered for a variety of psychology courses; these demonstrations offer a hands-on practical experience that both supplements and augments the coursework and lectures experienced by students.
Study Space Hours
The Lab will be open as a student study space throughout the semester. Study Space hours are posted separately for each campus; the open times will change from week to week. Please check this web page often for current availability.
During "Study Space" hours, the Lab may be used: as a study space; to complete group work; or as drop-in for assistance with course assignments. Appointments (both in-person or virtual) may also be made during "Study Space" hours. NOTE: Priority for assistance will be given to those students with appointments.
To schedule an appointment, please send your requests to psychlab@douglascollege.ca. Include the following:
- date, time, and campus for the appointment
- the course number, section number, and instructor's name
- a copy of assignment details or course outline
- a PDF copy of the paper (for paper review)
