Computers touch every aspect of our lives. Whether you are interested in a high-tech career, or you just want to understand what goes on inside these amazing machines, you’ve come to the right place. Computing Science at Douglas can give you a solid academic and applied foundation in computer programming and the science of computing, as a step towards a computing degree or to build your computer literacy to complement any program of study.
Program Options
We offer programs that include first- and second-year university transferable courses covering Python and C++ programming, software engineering, computer graphics, and user interface design. We also offer hands-on courses on Raspberry Pi and game development for computer and virtual reality systems.
Certificate in Computing Science (one year) The Computing Science Certificate is a 10-course package designed to transfer smoothly into a university computing science program.
Diploma in Computing Science (two years) Choose from two streams: Game Development, in which you’ll create games for computer and VR systems; and General, which will give you skills in software development, programming and information analysis. You can also transfer your credits to university if you want to complete a bachelor’s degree.
Associate degree in Computing Science (two years) Pick the topics in computing science that interest you while earning credits that transfer to university. In most cases, an associate degree will allow you to enter the third year of a four-year bachelor's degree program. |
