Career and Employment Preparation Program

The Career and Employment Preparation program (CAEP) at Douglas College has been specially designed to assist students with barriers to employment.

We'll show you how to use your skills and abilities to choose a career and help build your self-confidence to enter the work force or pursue further training. The program includes real-life, on-the-job experience.

Use this 14 week full-time program to research the job market and identify the skills required for a new occupation. Learn practical stress and time-management techniques. Communicate directly and effectively. Practise study and note taking skills.

With your active participation and regular attendance, this program will provide knowledgeable support and instruction to help you set goals and reach them. Upon successfully completing all program activities, you will earn a college citation.

Do you want to...

  • identify a realistic achievable employment goal?
  • make a plan which will help you to reach that goal?
  • develop or re-assess your educational plan?
  • learn about the job market and training opportunities?
  • practise job-keeping skills?
  • find the support you need to make the transition to vocational training or competitive employment?
