Coaches, trainers and parents often enquire as to the best path toward building an "Athletic" young person. Youth sports today is big business with many programs to choose from, but unfortunately very few take a developmental approach to the evolution of the whole athlete. Sport skills are often the focus when youth also need physical development to build their foundation of athleticism.
The key to optimal development is to ensure motor skills are not traded for physical fitness components. And physical fitness components are not traded for or prioritized over motor skills. The best development programs include both! And the best development begins and continues with free play.
Join Carmen as she discusses solutions to fostering a great environment where many attributes can be honed to physically develop youth athletes.
