The student will be able to:
1) discuss the basics of virtualization and its benefits;
2) describe different virtualization technologies;
3) perform server and desktop virtualization configuration and administration;
4) discuss current network standards and topologies;
5) identify devices and services used to support communications across networks;
6) describe the layering structure of networking protocols;
7 ) describe the wired and wireless technologies used in local area networks;
8) demonstrate the applications of the internet protocol suite and the related protocols;
9) perform both physical and logical designs for enterprise networks;
10) configure network services on computer systems;
11) use programs such as ping and tracert for testing network connectivity;
12) configure routers and switches for an enterprise local area network;
13) use a packet capturing tool for network analysis and program debugging.
