The course consists of a
- one hour lecture per week
- one hour of in class assignment work
- two hours of lab work
Assignments are to be handed in at the end of each class or lab.
Late assignments will not be marked. Project due dates will be given at the start of the term. Due dates are fixed and will not be extened or changed.
Course Description
This course is intended for students proceeding to studies in Applied Science/Engineering. This course covers key technical drawing topics such as orthographic projections, technical sketching and engineering drawings. Students produce both hand and computer drawings. This is a project based course where students learn the role of technical drawing in project design. This course replaces APSC1110. No double credit will be granted for students who complete both APSC1110 and ENGR1110.

Learning Outcomes
The student will be able to:
- Demonstrate an ability to translate from one to another of

- Demonstrate an ability to prepare pictorial and orthographic sketches and drawings.
- Analyze and solve 3-dimensional problems by graphical means.
- Read technical drawings.
- Explain the role of technical drawing in the greater context of project design.
Means of Assessment
Assignments - minimum 20% and maximum of 30%
There is an option for on-line assignments.
Group Project - minimum 20% and a maximum of 30%
Midterm Project - minimum 20% and a maximum of 30%
Final Project - minimum 30% and a maximum of 40%

Exact textbook and materials will be decided by the instructor before the course begins.

- Randy H Shih, AutoCAD Tutorial, Schroff Development Corporation (SDC)
- Set of drawing equipment including but not limited to a geometric compass and a ruler of minimum 15 cm length
