Set Painting
Overview
The Design Relationship:

Techniques

Students will receive 1 - 1 ½ hours of lecture/demonstration followed by 2 ½ - 3 hours of studio that includes independent work and one-on-one instruction.

7 projects that demonstrate skills in the fundamentals of scenic painting | 70% |
Final project that combines the elements of instruction | 20% |

Upon completion of this course, the successful student should be able to:
- Describe basic techniques and materials for set painting.
- Develop skills in lay-in texturing, color mixing, and layout.
A list of recommended textbooks and materials is provided on the Instructor’s Course Outline, which is available to students at the beginning of each semester.
Example: Paint brushes will be available for purchase at the first class.

Acceptance to Stagecraft Program or permission of the Stagecraft Program Coordinator.
