Douglas College to launch new Post-Baccalaureate Project Management credential starting Summer 2025

Starting May 2025, those with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline can streamline their education to a career in project management with the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma (PBD) in Project Management program at Douglas College.

Individuals with existing business knowledge or experience can use the PBD to carve a niche for themselves in their industry. Three specialization streams will be introduced when this program launches in Summer 2025, including Digital Marketing, General Marketing and Supply Chain Management.

“Through these streams, students can focus on a specific area of business without needing to take multiple credentials to gain those perspectives,” said Monica Semeniuk, Commerce and Business Administration instructor and Program Coordinator for Project Management PDD and PBD programs. “By tying different concepts together, we're making it easier for students to diversify their skillset.”

Branching from the College’s existing Post-Degree Diploma (PDD) in Project Management, this new two-year program offers students more course options, further flexibility in their studies and access to co-operative education opportunities.

“During a co-op placement, students will network with professionals in their field, gain exposure to the local market and add relevant, industry-level work experience to their resumés,” she said. “We anticipate that some students will even secure a permanent position with their co-op placement at the end of their studies.”

Additional courses have been added to the expanded PBD program including a new course on cross-cultural management skills will equip students to navigate the remarkably diverse and multicultural workforce of today.

Students who are already enroled in Douglas College’s PDD in Project Management, Supply Chain Management or Marketing can ladder directly into the new Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Project Management.

Domestic students can apply now through EducationPlannerBC.
