•General College Admission Requirements
•Applicants must have an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada or an equivalent credential from an approved institution of a different country. Any applicant who earned their credential in a language other than English must meet the Douglas College English language proficiency requirement.

Curriculum framework

Graduation Requirements:

  • Successful completion of 30 program credits
  • Minimum Program GPA of 2.00 is required
  • At least 70% (21 credits) of all coursework must be completed at Douglas College
  • Courses used towards a previously received credential can be used to meet program requirements, but additional courses will need to be taken to replace these credits

Learning Outcomes:
Students who complete this program will:
1. Effectively analyze and strategically apply human
resource management theories and principles at the
generalist and specialist level.
2. Evaluate and propose how to effectively leverage the
role of human resources in achieving the operational and
strategic goals of an organization.
3. Develop the skills and abilities in each specialized
human resource management area and effectively apply them
in managing human resources in organizations.
4. Appraise recommendations to both familiar and new human
resource management situations.
5. Design and develop programs that will help human
resources function effectively and efficiently in
organizations using skills and abilities developed in each
specialized human resource management area.
6. Demonstrate professional writing and oral presentation
standards and practice.
7. Obtain the requisite knowledge and skills to pass the
National Knowledge Exam (NKE) towards earning a designation
as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR).
