If you’re taking a post-degree program at Douglas, the Career Boost Program will help you gain the career development skills and knowledge to succeed in the job market. The program will prepare you to find part-time work or volunteer positions that complement your area of study. Once you graduate from your Douglas program, the Career Centre will support your success in finding your first career-related position.
What you get
Training through five mandatory workshops "the PD-5" covering:
- Identify your top skills and strengths and how to match this to your top career choices
- Workplace communications, workplace culture and employer expectations
- Know your rights and responsibilities in the workplace
- Learn about the gig economy and how to make it work for you in today's evolving labour market
- Using technology, develop and organize a precise approach to job search using LinkedIn to grow your network connections
Ongoing career services support, workshops and coaching, including:
- Networking Hub – monthly sessions where you will meet other professionals and build a stronger network
- Support in finding part-time paid or volunteer work that complement your area of study
- Ongoing job search assistance from career coaches during the program
