Course Description
This field work experience provides the student with the opportunity to implement and reflect on the success of a learning activity and gain personal competence in a supervised physical activity setting.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this fieldwork course, the student shall be able to:

  1. Demonstrate punctuality in keeping appointments.
  2. Demonstrate appropriate attire selection to match workplace needs.
  3. Demonstrate respectful communication practices.
  4. Analyze the organizational components of a learning activity including: group size, environment, policies and procedures.
  5. Design a drill or activity for a target audience with the support of a mentor.
  6. Implement a learning activity with support.
  7. Reflect on the successes and short-comings of an implemented activity.
Means of Assessment

The selection of evaluation tools for this course is based upon:

  1. Adherence to college evaluation policy regarding number and weighing of evaluations, for example a course of three credits or more should have at least three separate evaluations.
  2. A developmental approach to evaluation that is sequenced and progressive.
  3. Evaluation is used as a teaching tool for both students and instructors.
  4. Commitment to student participation in evaluation through such processes as self and peer evaluation, and program/ instructor evaluation.
