Launch your career in accounting and bookkeeping with the Certificate in Applied Accounting. This 15-credit program offers comprehensive training in relevant accounting software, including QuickBooks, Sage and Excel, ensuring you’re job-ready upon graduation.
This program offers flexible course options with online and evening classes available. You can also study full-time or part-time, the choice is yours.
Get certified
Once you’ve graduated, you can continue to build on the skills you learned in this program by obtaining QuickBooks Certification. Graduates can also seamlessly transfer into the Diploma in Accounting or the Bachelor of Business Administration at Douglas, opening doors to even more employment opportunities.
Job opportunities
This credential makes you job-ready upon graduation. You’ll be prepared to work as a bookkeeper or accounting technician once you graduate. More than 9,500 bookkeeping and accounting technician job openings are expected in B.C. over the next 10 years. You can also expect a median salary of $52,000 once you graduate.
University transfer

Note: Some courses in this program require students to have completed Foundations of Math 11 with a grade of C (some courses may have a higher requirement). Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you check each individual course prerequisite and ensure that you have completed requirements prior to registration.

* ACCT 1235 (Principles of Introductory Financial Accounting I & II) can be taken instead of ACCT 1110 and 1210. A 3-credit elective course from ACCT must then be taken to meet the 15-credit requirement of the program.
