Course description
This course develops and improves touch-typing skills.
Course content
  1. Ergonomic principles
  2. Keyboarding timings
  3. Correct technique
  4. Speed and accuracy drill exercises
Learning outcomes

The learner has reliably demonstrated the ability to:

  1. keyboard accurately using touch-typing technique to produce alphanumeric copy to meet entry-level industry standards.
  2. achieve keyboarding speed of 30 Net Words Per Minute (NWPM) with 98% accuracy on a minimum of three 5-minute timings.
Means of assessment

To obtain a grade of mastery

  1. all assignments must be completed
  2. proper technique must be demonstrated
  3. minimum speed of 30 NWPM with 98% accuracy must be achieved on a minimum of three 5-minute timings
