CAEP 0300 | Employment ReadinessThis course is designed to prepare students with learning difficulties or barriers to education and employment for entry level employment and/or further vocational training. It focuses on workplace skills and behaviors that contribute to job success, including social and communication skills, problem solving, self-management and self-advocacy skills, work safety skills, and interview skills. Students also explore their occupational and career alternatives based on their interests, knowledge and skills. |

Students are placed at supervised and supportive worksites in fields that match their interests and abilities. Students are expected to demonstrate and practice appropriate work habits and attitudes while gaining exposure to different work environments. |
CAEP 0320 | Job Search SkillsThis course is designed to provide students with learning difficulties or barriers to education and employment with an overview of job seeking techniques. It focuses on a variety of topics that allow students to build competencies toward further training and future employment, including understanding of the job search process, preparing cover letters and resumes, typical interview questions and techniques. The course prepares students on how to target jobs that are desirable and realistic and fill a need for employers in today’s challenging job market. |

LIST 0130 | Business Development for Self-EmploymentThis course is designed to provide students with barriers to education and employment with both theoretical and practical skills in establishing self-employment. Students learn to assess a proposed business idea and to develop a business plan. The focus of the course is to support students in establishing self-employment such as a micro business. |

Students also practice the knowledge and skills needed to comply with workplace safety policies. |
LIST 0220 | Food Preparation and ProductionThis course is designed to provide students with barriers to education and employment with the opportunity to develop basic cooking skills to use in a professional kitchen. Students will practice basic cooking methods and techniques by preparing salads, smoothies, and meal kits. The focus of the course is on proper procedures for handling and storing food, knife skills, measuring, and portioning food. |
LIST 0230 | Barista SkillsThis course is designed to provide students with barriers to education and employment with skills needed to operate commercial espresso machines and grinders to extract espresso, foam and texture milk. The focus of the course is on gaining an introductory understanding on topics relates to the world of coffee at origin while implementing health and safety practices and customer service. |

LIST 0310 | Wire and General AssemblyThis course is designed to provide students with barriers to education and employment with training in the wire assembly industry. Students learn component identification, tool use and safety, and using industry equipment for automatic and manual wire preparation. They also learn industry specific language and how to prepare wire assembly orders along an assembly line. The course focuses on workplace communication to effectively work in a team environment while carrying out individual tasks up to industry standards. |
LIST 0320 | Electronics Theory and SolderingThis course is designed to provide students with barriers to education and employment with training in the wire assembly industry. Students train to work with electronics and printed circuit boards for manufacturing and assembly industries. The range of skills taught varies for each student but typically includes component preparation, board assembly, soldering and electronics theory. Students learn industry safety and language. |
LIST 0330 | Bike Assembly and Bike MechanicsThis course is designed to provide students with barriers to education and employment with training in bike assembly and to learn how to maintain and fix hydraulic and mechanical bikes. Through hands on training, students learn how to read assembly manuals to put together bikes from parts. Students learn about all types of bikes, such as road bikes, mountain bikes, commuter bikes and different bike components. The course also focuses on bike industry specific tools and language. |
